Predicted Manchester United XI to face Chelsea in the Premier League
Manchester United face rivals Chelsea after their European shindigs. The Red Devils have put in some gutsy performances in their last two games with wins over Newcastle and PSG, as they look to make it three wins on the bounce.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are yet to pick up a win after two draws on the trot. This could be a cracker of a fixture with so much at stake. Manchester United do hold the edge but don’t expect Frank Lampard’s men to hold back their punches.
Team News
Eric Bailly is ruled out with another long-term injury. Anthony Martial will miss the next two games as a part of his 3-game suspension. A few players who missed the PSG game could be in contention to play a part in this game. Expect some changes to the XI that started the PSG game.
Probable Manchester United XI
Formation: 4-3-3
David De Gea (GK)
Not to jinx things but David De Gea produced one of his vintage displays against PSG. The Spaniard looked to be at his usual best and that bodes well.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)
Wan-Bissaka shrugged off his early season struggles to produce a stellar defensive display and continues at right-back.
Victor Lindelof (CB)
One of his better days at the office against PSG and looks more assured now.
Harry Maguire (CB)
Captain Maguire, who missed the last game, might be called upon in place of Axel Tuanzebe.
Alex Telles (LB)
A decent debut for the new man but will be hoping for a full 90 minites against Chelsea.
Nemanja Matic (DM)
Should get a recall after sitting out the last few games. His experience will be vital against his former club.
Paul Pogba (CM)
The Frenchman looked dangerous after coming on in the last game and everyone will be hoping for more of the same.
Bruno Fernandes (AM)
Fernandes is on fire at this point. The last two games showed his strength of character as he kept pushing the team for a win and ultimately got them to it.
Marcus Rashford (LW)
It seems like Rashford has rediscovered his goalscoring instincts and with two goals in the last two games, confidence will be high.
Edinson Cavani (ST)
The Uruguayan is finally clear to participate in a game and could be handed his debut.
Mason Greenwood (RW)
Another player who could return to the fold after being kept off the team. Greenwood will have to start putting in the hard yards to win back Solskjaer’s trust.
