Tottenham vs Ajax Predictions: Tottenham Hotspur Line-up

Tottenham will play their first ever Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, as they welcome Ajax to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Lilywhites are within 180 minutes of a place in the final at the Wanda Metropolitano after overcoming Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in the first two knockout rounds.

Ajax, meanwhile, have been one of the most exciting sides in Europe this season, scoring in all four matches against Juventus and Real Madrid in the knockout phase. They will be confident of getting something out of this game.

Team News

Son Heung-min is suspended for the first leg after picking up another yellow card in the last match against Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino will also be without the likes of Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier, while Harry Winks is a major doubt for the game.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris has had a poor season according to his standards. Yet, he has been Spurs no.1 and will start on Tuesday.

Kieran Trippier (RWB)

Tripper hasn’t had a good season for Spurs but with Aurier injured, he could be recalled into the starting XI against Ajax.

Davinson Sanchez (RCB)

Sanchez has blown hot and cold this campaign but the Colombian will be confident of proving his doubters wrong on Tuesday.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian has been a massive part of the Spurs backline over the last few years and he should start in central defence against the Dutch opponents.

Jan Vertonghen (LCB)

Vertonghen was rested against West Ham at the weekend; so he’ll be fresh to face Ajax.

Danny Rose (LWB)

Aggressive and tenacious in tackling, Rose could be preferred ahead of Davies at left wing-back.

Victor Wanyama (CM)

With Sissoko out injured, Wanyama’s power and physicality will be required in the middle of the park on Tuesday.

Eric Dier (CM)

Pochettino could opt for an extra body in midfield against an attacking Ajax side. That could see Dier start in central midfield alongside Wanyama.

Dele Alli (RAM)

Alli was very poor in the defeat to West Ham at the weekend. The midfielder, however, will be itching to make his mark on the bigger stage.

Christian Eriksen (LAM)

Eriksen’s creativity will be Tottenham’s most important asset against Ajax. He’ll look to haunt his former club.
