Manchester City vs Brighton Predictions: Manchester City Line-up
Manchester City travel to Brighton on Sunday knowing that a win will guarantee them the Premier League title.
The Cityzens edged past Leicester City on Monday, courtesy of a Vincent Kompany thunderbolt. Pep Guardiola, whose team secured 100 points in the Premier League last year, aims to finish the season with 98 points with 90 minutes separating him from retaining the league title.
Brighton, meanwhile, have secured their safety in the Premier League, but they’ll be eager to spoil City’s title triumph on the final day of the campaign.
Team News
Fernandinho could return on the final weekend after missing games against Burnley and Leicester with a knee injury. But Kevin De Bruyne looks likely to miss out due to a hamstring problem.
Probable Manchester City XI
Formation: 4-3-3
Manager: Pep Guardiola
Ederson (GK)
Ederson has been ever-present in City’s side in all competitions and he is a sure starter on Sunday.
Kyle Walker (RB)
Walker has been a consistent performer for Manchester City since his arrival from Spurs in 2017 and he is expected to continue in his preferred right-back role against Brighton.
Vincent Kompany (CB)
The skipper came up with the moment of magic, powering a long-range pile-driver to help City win 1-0 over Leicester. Kompany is a definite starter on the final day of the season.
Aymeric Laporte (CB)
The Frenchman’s performances this season have been nothing but exceptional and he has been one of the main reasons why City have been excellent at the back. He is expected to partner Kompany on Sunday.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB)
Due to Mendy’s recurrent injury problems, Zinchenko has made the left-back spot his own and is expected to start at Brighton.
Fernandinho (CDM)
One of Pep Guardiola’s crucial members in his squad, Fernandinho’s positioning will be key if the Cityzens are to win the title on the final day.
Ilkay Gundogan (RCM)
Fernandinho’s absence due to injuries this season has seen Gundogan play in a deeper role for City. But with Fernandinho likely to recover from injury, the German could be back in his preferred role in central midfield at the weekend.
David Silva (LCM)
The Spaniard failed to impact the proceedings against Leicester, but he’ll be buoyant to make things work at Brighton.
Raheem Sterling (LW)
Just like Silva, Sterling also had a poor day in the office on Monday. However, the England international will be pumped up to guide City to all three points at the weekend.

Bernardo Silva (RW)
Arguably City’s best player this season, Silva’s dribbling skills, positioning and creativity could help determine his team’s fate at the Amex Stadium.
Sergio Aguero (ST)
City’s goal-machine, Aguero will be raring to make a mark on Sunday and guide the Cityzens to another league title.
