Predicted Chelsea XI to face Burnley in the Premier League

Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel face another stern test in the Premier League in the form of Burnley. This will be his second game in charge of the Blues as he looks for his first win with the side. Chelsea have just one win from their last five league outings.

Meanwhile, Burnley are in a rather good form edging out Aston Villa in a five-goal thriller in midweek, taking their tally to 3 wins in 5. Given the quality of Chelsea and Burnley’s form, it would be expected that the game is close to call.

Team News

Not a lot of injuries for Thomas Tuchel to deal with. N’Golo Kante has returned from injury and is likely to make the squad in some capacity. A change in formation could be on the cards as Tuchel looks for his first 3 points at the helm.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Edouard Mendy (GK)

Mendy has let in a fair few goals over the last few games and will be hoping for a clean sheet this time around.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

Will likely switch to full-back instead of a third centre-back. Keeps his place in the side ahead of Reece James.

Thiago Silva (CB)

Should retain his place but given how he has been rotated on a regular basis, remains to be seen if he plays.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

Rudiger was straightaway brought back into the mix after Tuchel took over. Should keep his place.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Chilwell has been a menace for teams this season as he has constantly bombed up and down the left flank.

N’Golo Kante (DM)

Likely to be given a run out after his injury layoff. A top player, it’ll be interesting to see how he adapts to Tuchel’s methods.

Jorginho (CM)

Should come in place of Havertz to provide some more defensive cover given how they have conceded in the last few games.

Mason Mount (CM)

Was left out for the previous game but should be given this one to show his qualities.

Christian Pulisic (LW)

The American is another player who missed out the first game for Tuchel. Expected to come in for this one.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (RW)

The youngster played in a rather unfamiliar wingback role but should be able to return to his preferred spot.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

Quite why no manager sees Tammy Abraham as the first-choice is puzzling. Has been a regular source of goals this term.
