Predicted Manchester United XI to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League

Manchester United are all set to take on RB Leipzig in their next Champions League assignment. The Red Devils pulled a rabbit out of the hat with their win over PSG last week. They will need something similar if they are to get a positive result against last season’s semifinalists.

Leipzig are also on a roll with 4 wins on the trot and will be looking to make it five as they visit Old Trafford. A cagey affair can be expected with both teams likely to take a safety first approach.

Team News

Eric Bailly is ruled out with another long-term injury. The other two confirmed absentees are Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard. A few faces could return such as the likes of Anthony Martial, who is still serving a domestic suspension. Not a lot of changes from the PSG game can be expected as they did their job to perfection.

Probable Man United XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

David De Gea (GK)

Not to jinx things but David De Gea produced one of his vintage displays against PSG. The Spaniard looked to be at his usual best and that bodes well.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RWB)

Wan-Bissaka shrugged off his early season struggles to produce a stellar defensive display and continues at right-wingback.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

One of his better days at the office and looks more assured now.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Captain Maguire missed the game versus PSG but looks set to feature for this one.

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

The youngster has probably given Solskjaer a good selection headache with the way he handled Kylian Mbappe in the last game. Likely to get the nod for this one too.

Alex Telles (LB)

A decent debut for the new man but will be hoping for a full 90 minutes versus Leipzig.

Scott McTominay (CM)

Another youngster who is improving by leaps and bounds with each game and has likely taken over the mantle from Matic.

Paul Pogba (CM)

The Frenchman looked dangerous after coming on in the last game and everyone will be hoping for more of the same.

Bruno Fernades (AM)

Might have struggled to influence the Chelsea game but will be hoping to carry on his good start in the Champions League.

Marcus Rashford (ST)

Rashford looks United’s best bet in front of goal at this point and a lot will be on him this time too.

Anthony Martial (ST)

The Frenchman is likely to be brought back into the fold after missing the last 3 games.
