Manchester United could seal a berth in the knockout rounds against PSG in their 5th group stage match in the Champions League. The Red Devils top Group H and a point from the final two games could pretty much be enough. They will be in buoyant form after the weekend where they mount a comeback against Southampton.
PSG are tottering a bit and could use all three points on offer. They are coming on the back of a draw against Bordeaux at the weekend. The reverse fixture was edged out by Manchester United and another dramatic game can be expected given the history of this fixture.
Manchester United and Solskjaer will have a flurry of injuries to navigate through. Phil Jones and Eric Bailly are ruled out. Jesse Lingard could be back in contention after his self isolation. Fresh injuries to De Gea and Van de Beek puts them in some doubt, with the Spaniard coming off at half-time against Southampton.
Martial remains a doubt after his illness. Scott McTominay could miss out on this game due to an unknown injury. Luke Shaw will also have to spend some time on the sidelines due to his hamstring injury before the international break. Paul Pogba could return to the squad but is unlikely to be handed a start. Lastly, Axel Tuanzebe remains suspended for this game.
Could just be handed his 5th game for Manchester United with De Gea’s knee injury to be assessed.
Wan-Bissaka should keep his place after the last game.
Victor Lindelof (CB)
Not a great showing from the Swede as Manchester United continue to struggle defensively. Will continue to start though, with defensive options thin.
Harry Maguire (CB)
Captain Maguire needs to do much better if he is to keep the likes of Neymar and co. at bay.
Alex Telles (LB)
The new signing has impressed in the last few games. Will be an important factor in this game as well.
Donny Van de Beek (DM)
After being handed a start in the league, Van de Beek did not disappoint. Should make it to the starting XI despite a minor ankle injury.
Fred (DM)
Impressive as ever. His relentless pressing and energy could be a deciding factor in the midfield battle.
Bruno Fernandes (AM)
You simply cannot keep this mercurial Portuguese quiet. Playing an equal part in the comeback, his form will be put to the test in this game.
Marcus Rashford (LW)
The youngster is having a good time in the Champions League with 5 goals so far.
Edinson Cavani (ST)
‘El Matador’ could not have picked a better game to show that he has still got it. Playing a part in all three goals against Southampton, Cavani will be raring to go against his former team.
Mason Greenwood (RW)
Greenwood needs to start taking his chances as they come. Being hooked off at half-time against the Saints does not bode well for the youngster.
