Predicted Manchester United XI to face Southampton in the Premier League

Manchester United seem to be in a bit of a slump but they will have no respite as Southampton are their next assignment. The Red Devils have failed to win 3 of their last 5 league games. They were held to a stalemate against Arsenal in the last game as they lost ground in the title race.

Meanwhile, Southampton aren’t doing too well either. The Saints have won just one of their last five league games, losing their last game to Aston Villa. By no means is this an easy game for the home side with all their problems coming at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Team News

Scott McTominay could miss the game after he was hauled off in the last game.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

David De Gea (GK)

Was not tested too much in the last game and should continue his run in the side.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

There aren’t a lot of options for Wan-Bissaka to be rested or rotated. Continues his run of games.

Eric Bailly (CB)

The Ivorian could be thrown in the mix after a few games on the sidelines.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Looks like an assured presence in defence, be it alongside Lindelof or Bailly.

Luke Shaw (LB)

The left-back has been a constant boost for the side with his forays on the left.

Nemanja Matic (DM)

The Serb could well come into the side in place of McTominay after the latter’s injury.

Fred (DM)

Really needs to brush up on his shooting, as evident from the last game.

Paul Pogba (LM)

The side will need him back at his best as they look to get back to winning ways.

Bruno Fernandes (AM)

It should worry Manchester United that Fernandes has been in a bit of a slump over the last few games. Should get another crack to set things normal.

Marcus Rashford (RM)

Another player who has cut a rather frustrating figure with the lack of goals.

Anthony Martial (ST)

While it would seem logical to put Cavani in after his heroics in the reverse fixture, Martial should get the nod to give some rest to the veteran striker.
