Predicted Man United XI to face Watford in the Premier League

Man United booked their seats in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Colchester United on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games and they will once again be the outright favourites to come away with all three points against Watford, who are currently bottom of the standings in the division.

Ole Gunnar Solskjer’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton last week and a victorious trip to Vicarage Road could see them close the gap on the top-four.

Team News

Eric Bailly (knee), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee), Diogo Dalot (groin) and Paul Pogba are all doubtful to feature due to injuries. Besides that, Ole Gunnar Solskajer is expected to have all other key players at his disposal for the trip to Watford on Sunday.

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted XI

1. David de Gea (GK)

The Spaniard was rested for the Carabao Cup game on Wednesday but he has always been the undisputed first-choice between the sticks for the Red Devils in the Premier League.

2. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

The youngster has been an inspired addition to Man United’s ranks this season and he should be fresh and ready to start after having a rest during the midweek game.

3. Harry Maguire (CB)

The England international didn’t have too much to do in the EFL Cup victory and he could once again be set for a rather easy test against Watford, who have only scored 9 goals in 17 games so far.

4. Victor Lindelof (CB)

The Swede has put in a number of commanding displays at the heart of the defence this season and he is a sure bet to return to the playing eleven at the weekend.

5. Luke Shaw (LB)

The former Southampton man was quite disappointing in the 1-1 draw against Everton last week and he will surely need to put in a better shift this time around.

6. Fred (CDM)

The Brazilian has shown strong signs of resurgence with a number of impressive displays in recent weeks and he should be fresh to start on Sunday after being rested for the EFL Cup tie.

7. Scott McTominay (CDM)

The academy graduate has established himself as one of the key cogs in United’s midfield this season, with Solskjaer showing plenty of trust in his abilities.

8. Daniel James (RW)

The former Swansea man continues to be an influential creative outlet for the Red Devils down the flanks and he should once again be among the starters against Watford.

9. Jese Lingard (CAM)

There hasn’t been enough end product from him this season but United don’t really have too many options in that No.10 role behind the striker.

10. Marcus Rashford (LW)

Rashford is currently United’s top scorer in the Premier League with 10 goals to his name and he once again proved his worth with a man-of-the-match display against Colchester in the EFL Cup.

11. Anthony Martial (ST)
