Predicted Aston Villa XI to face West Ham in the Premier League

Aston Villa will take on West Ham in a late Monday night kickoff in the Premier League. Villa have had mixed fortunes this season where they have brushed aside the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester but have failed to produce anything against the likes of Brighton. They will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a loss in the last game.

West Ham are only starting to gain some momentum this season with two wins in their last two games. An important 3 points will be up for grabs.

Team News

There will be a few names who will likely miss the trip to West Ham. Ross Barkley picked up an injury in the Brighton game and is ruled out for this one. Wesley, Bjorn Engels and Frederic Guilbert are also likely to be absent through injury.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Emiliano Martinez (GK)

The former Arsenal man is enjoying being the first choice and will keep his place between the sticks.

Matt Targett (LB)

Targett keeps his place at left-back after the Brighton game.

Tyrone Mings (CB)

Villa’s best defender for a while now. Will have to deal with Sebastian Haller for this one.

Ezri Konsa (CB)

Dropped some decent performances in the last few games. Keeps his place alongside Mings in the absence of Hause and Engels. Scored the only goal in the last game.

Matty Cash (RB)

Matty Cash has settled in well at the club and keeps his place on the right side of the defence.

Douglas Luiz (DM)

Repaying the faith shown on him. Has been quite a reliable presence in the midfield for them.

John McGinn (CM)

McGinn is Villa’s midfield linchpin. Without him, the team looks short on creativity. Will be absolutely vital in the absence of Barkley.

Bertrand Traore (AM)

The former Chelsea man will have to slot in for Ross Barkley in attacking midfield. Has to take these chances he’s getting.

Jack Grealish (LW)

He is undoubtedly their best player and an undisputed starter. A lot will be riding on the captain if they are to get back to winning ways.

Trezeguet (RW)

Should get a start in this one as well. Has performed decently on the right this season.

Ollie Watkins (ST)

Ollie Watkins proved to everyone that Villa didn’t make any mistake with his signing. Drew a blank in the last game but will look to bounce back. Should be raring to have a crack at West Ham.
