Predicted Manchester City XI to face Burnley in the Premier League

Manchester City will face Burnley next in the Premier League as Guardiola’s side look to put more distance between themselves and the chasing pack. The Sky Blues have won their last 8 league games on the trot actually.

Burnley have endured some mixed form with just 2 wins in their last 5 league games. The Clarets are by no means an easy side to break down but given City’s form, there are slim chances that City drop points.

City will have two notable absentees due to injury. Kevin De Bruyne and Nathan Ake are ruled out of the game. Sergio Aguero could return to the fold after his recovery from COVID.

Predicted Manchester City XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian shot-stopper is back to his best form and City look assured at the back.

Kyle Walker (RB)

The experienced right-back has been a consistent presence on the right.

John Stones (CB)

The former Everton man has made huge strides this season and looks like his usual self.

Ruben Dias (CB)

The Portuguese has taken so very easily to this City side. Been a very reliable presence ever since his move.

Joao Cancelo (LB)

Cancelo has been used a lot at left-back this season and he has done very well in that role.

Ilkay Gundogan (CM)

Quietly, Gundogan has become an important part of the side again. His recent goal-scoring exploits help too.

Rodrigo Hernandez (DM)

Cool and calm, the Spaniard has kept things tidy from the base of midfield.

Bernardo Silva (CM)

While Foden might have been a good shout, Silva is likely to play this one out.

Riyad Mahrez (RW)

Should be expecting a return to the side. Played no part in the last game.

Gabriel Jesus (ST)

With Aguero just back from illness, Jesus will continue in the position.

Raheem Sterling (LW)

The tricky winger will be a huge outlet for the side with his goal-scoring exploits.
