Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face LASK in the Europa League

Tottenham begin their first Europa League campaign under Jose Mourinho as they take on LASK in the group stage opener. Spurs will be hoping to put their weekend misery aside when they capitulated a 3-goal lead and ended with just a draw against West Ham.

LASK are in good form, with just one loss this season and they also beat Worgl by 3-0 in their most recent fixture. Surely not easy opponents, LASK will provide quite a challenge for Mourinho’s troops.

Team News

Japhet Tanganga and Eric Dier are out with injury while Joe Rodon isn’t a part of the squad due to registration issues. Other than that, Mourinho will have all of his options. Changes will be expected though, with a tough test of Burnley coming on the weekend.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Joe Hart (GK)

The veteran Englishman should get his chance in the cup competitions this season.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Alderweireld will have to start his one too as Spurs don’t have too many centre-backs to call upon.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Not having the best of times, Sanchez, with an own goal in the last game. Played well throughout apart from that one moment.

Matt Doherty (RB)

Another player who might return to the fold after sitting out the last game. Likely to replace Aurier on the right.

Ben Davies (LB)

Replacing the lively Reguilon, Ben Davies will need to put up a good show if he is to get more game time.

Harry Winks (CM)

Will be tasked with screening the defence. Has to show his potential in place of Hojbjerg.

Giovani Lo Celso (CM)

A minor doubt for the game but if all goes well, he could be thrown into the mix for a return from his injury.

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli is likely to get limited chances and this is one of them. Needs to put in a solid shift to make his way back into the manager’s plans.

Lucas Moura (LW)

Should be given the nod ahead of Son, who might be given the night off.

Gareth Bale (RW)

Gareth Bale almost had his dream return with a great chance to bury the game for his team but ended up scuffing it. Nonetheless, a start instead of a cameo should do him some good.

Carlos Vinicius (ST)

The new man will be raring to go and Mourinho should give him this game to get into the groove of things.
