In the Dark Season 5: Will the Series See a Renewal?

Published by

Fans of “In the Dark” are looking forward to the fifth season. The show has become super popular, mainly because of Perry Mattfeld’s amazing portrayal of Murphy. But even with great ratings and lots of fan love, some bigger problems led to the show being canceled. At present, The CW hasn’t issued any official statements regarding In the Dark season 5 renewal.

The CW hasn’t made any official announcements

With season four already complete and no producers confirming a fifth season release plan announced yet – though should viewership ratings see significant improvement for In The Dark it could well be renewed for another season!

The fourth season of In the Dark was an eagerly awaited installment, and finally concluded on September 5, 2022. Perry Mattfeld played Murphy Mason, an eyeless young woman in her early twenties who is struggling with an addiction to drugs. Brooke Markham played Jess, while Casey Deidrick took on Max Parish.

At its heart, In the Dark’s cancellation is likely attributed to declining ratings, an absence of new viewers, and other financial considerations. It was not one of CW’s highest-rated linear programs or among streaming audience numbers; additionally, cancellation came following similar decisions regarding other shows like Batwoman, Charmed Legacies & Dynasty on this network.

Contrary to many CW shows that were cancelled, In the Dark’s fourth season finale provided viewers with narrative closure. There were no major cliffhangers left hanging and its resolution would have been possible via movie or TV special. There may still be hope for an encore performance or streaming on Netflix but chances are low of it returning for season five.

There is no release date for the fifth season

The CW’s In the Dark has quickly become one of America’s favorite drama series, receiving praise for its suspenseful plot and well-developed characters. Fans are left wondering whether there will be another season.

In the Dark is an American television series that blends police procedure, startling crime and intense drama. Starring Perry Mattfeld, Casey Deidrick, Morgan Krantz, Keston John Marianne Rendon and Theodore Bhat. Developed by Corinne Kingsbury and directed by Michael Showalter with CBS Studios/Warner Bros TV co-production as well as co-production by Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films co-producing.

Unfortunately, The CW has decided not to renew this show for a fifth season; its fourth season concluded on September 5, 2022 and can currently be watched on Netflix. Their decision was due to low ratings as well as completion of story arc.

Fans were left dismayed at this decision, yet the show will remain available on Netflix for streaming. Fans can only hope that someday in the future it will return so that viewers can once again enjoy it; until then, binge watch its four seasons for now; you won’t regret watching! It features captivating storyline and talented actors – you won’t regret watching!

The show has been canceled by The CW

The CW has officially cancelled In The Dark for Season 4. While this show had an admirable following, its success wasn’t enough to prevent its cancellation due to Warner Bros and Discovery merging together and creating one entity. There are some fans still hoping that In The Dark may return; should viewership increase during this fourth season there is a chance it may still survive.

Though producers were able to craft an emotional finale that addressed Murphy’s long journey, fans are left heartbroken by its cancellation. Losing such an amazing show can leave one reeling.

It’s difficult to comprehend why The CW decided to end In the Dark. The show has been cancelled by Netflix

The CW may not have become an overnight ratings success with shows like superhero juggernaut The Flash or soap opera reboot Dynasty, but its impressive roster of critically acclaimed and underrated contemporary shows still boasts considerable critical praise and viewer appreciation. One such gem is In the Dark starring Perry Mattfeld as Murphy Mason; an intriguing crime drama that featured her becoming embroiled in everything from drug deals to murder investigations in season 4.

Though In the Dark had a large and passionate fan base, it was eventually cancelled after four seasons due to larger business decisions that were beyond its control. Fans tried renew campaigns, but nothing could stop it in its path.

As evidenced by recent cancellations due to the Warner/Discovery merger, shows such as those on The CW have seen their viewership numbers drastically reduce following this agreement.

It was disappointing when The CW decided to cancel In the Dark, an exciting and captivating series. Luckily, Netflix US picked it up and currently streams three seasons of In the Dark with more on their way soon after completion of season four.
