Tiafoe followed it up with another one-sided victory against Jason Kubler in the round of 32, winning 6-3, 6-2. Tiafoe smashed 9 aces and had a win percentage of 75 in this match. He also converted 3 out of 3 break points.
In the round of 16, Tiafoe put on a solid performance to beat Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 6-4. Once again, Tiafoe converted 3 out of 3 break points and bettered his win percentage on the first serve to 77.
