5th seed Daniil Medvedev takes on 23rd seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Indian Wells on Wednesday.
The Russian star has been in impeccable form as of late and is currently on a 17-match winning streak. He began in Indian Wells with a comprehensive 6-4, 6-3 win against Brandon Nakashima. In the round of 32, the former world No. 1 defeated Ilya Ivashka 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 with the help of 8 aces and a win percentage of 73 on the first serve.
In the round of 16, Medvedev had to fight hard against Alexander Zverev. After dropping the first set, Medvedev showed a lot of grit and determination to beat the 12th-seeded player 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. In this encounter, Medvedev sent across 12 aces.
