Kvitova came back strongly and bageled Ostapenko in the second set. The Czech veteran won the match 0-6, 6-0, 6-4. She converted 6 out of 7 break points in the match.
In the round of 16, Kvitova managed to beat the in-form Jessica Pegula 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (13-11). Kvitova converted 6 out of 10 break points in this encounter. In her last two matches, Kvitova has committed 19 double faults and would want to bring that number down against Sakkari.
