Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner collide in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Indian Wells on Thursday in what promises to be a blockbuster clash.

11th seed, Jannik Sinner began his campaign in Indian Wells with a solid win against Richard Gasquet. The Italian youngster won the match 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). In the round of 32, Sinner had to show a lot of grit and determination to beat another experienced Frenchman, Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Sinner had an impressive win percentage of 82 on the first serve which increased to 92 on the second serve.

In the round of 16, Sinner managed to defeat Stan Wawrinka with relative ease. The 21-year-old won the match 6-1, 6-4. He also saved 8 out of 9 break points in the encounter.

4th seed, Taylor Fritz has reached his fourth consecutive quarterfinal with some comprehensive wins. His start wasn’t good as he lost the first set to Ben Shelton in the round of 64. However, Fritz used his experience to return strongly and take the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. In the round of 32, Fritz eased past Sebastian Baez. The American star won the match 6-1, 6-2 with a staggering win percentage of 88 on the first serve.

Fritz met Marton Fucsovics in the round of 16. The Hungarian No. 1 couldn’t give Fritz a tough time as he lost 4-6, 3-6. Fritz converted 3 out of 5 break points in the match.
