6th seed Andrey Rublev takes on the talented Jiri Lehecka in the round of 64 of the 2023 Indian Wells on Friday.

The Russian youngster might not have won a title so far this season but he has played some fantastic tennis. He didn’t have a great start, losing in the first round in the Adelaide International 1. He was the top-seeded player in the Adelaide International 2 but he couldn’t progress beyond the second round. Rublev made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the second time in his career. After a first-round exit in ATP Rotterdam Open, Rublev reached the quarterfinals in Qatar where he lost to Lehecka.
Rublev followed it up with a run to the finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships. He was comprehensively beaten by compatriot Daniil Medvedev in the final.

The 21-year-old has also had a fine season thus far. He made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. This was the first time he made it to the quarterfinals at a major. Lehecka followed it up with a run to the semifinals in the qatar Open.
The Czech No. 1 faced Arthur Rinderknech in the round of 128 in Indian Wells. Lehecka had to dig deep to win the match in two competitive sets 7-6 (7-4), 7-5. Rinderknech didn’t help his cause as he committed 8 double faults.

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 1-1. Lehecka won their most recent encounter in the Qatar Open last month 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
