Indian Wells 2023: Danielle Collins vs Tamara Korpatsch – Preview, Head-to-Head, and Prediction

World No. 31 Danielle Collins locks horns with world No. 81 Tamara Korpatsch in the round of 128 of the 2023 Indian Wells.

The 29-year-old has produced a couple of decent results this season. She began with a first-round exit in the Adelaide International 1. In the Adelaide International 2, Collins made it to the quarterfinals where she lost to Veronika Kudermetova after winning the first set. In the Australian Open, Collins made it to the third round where she lost to eventual finalist Elena Rybaina. Collins was ousted by Jelena Ostapenko in the first round in Abu Dhabi. The American star lost to world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the round of 16 of the Qatar Open. Collins couldn’t get past the first round in the Dubai Tennis Championships, losing to the young and talented Linda Fruhvirtova.

Before coming to play in Indian Wells, Collins competed in the ATX Open last week. She made it to the semifinals with wins against Magdalena Frech, Caty McNally, and Anna Kalinskaya. Her loss in the semis came against Marta Kostyuk.

Tamara Korpatsch

The German player has had a torrid start to the season. She is still searching for her first win in 2023. Kopatsch couldn’t win her qualifying matches in Adelaide International 1 and Hobart International. She lost to Emma Raducanu in the first round of the Australian Open. In the first rounds of the Lyon Open and the Linz Open, Korpatsch lost to Alison Van Uytvanck and Donna Vekic respectively.

She recently competed in two ITF events in France and Slovakia. Wins still eluded her and she lost to Audrey Albie and Weronika Falkowska in the two respective events.
