11th seed Jannik Sinner takes on the experienced Stan Wawrinka in the round of 16 of the 2023 Indian Wells on Tuesday.
The Italian youngster has defeated a couple of French veterans to get to the round of 16. In the round of 64, Sinner defeated Richard Gasquet 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Wawrinka went on to beat 7th seed Holger Rune 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5 in the round of 32. The 3-time Grand Slam champion had a staggering win percentage of 95 on the first serve and he converted 5 out of 8 break points. In the three matches, Wawrinka has recorded 35 aces in total.
The head-to-head is currently at 2-2. Sinner comprehensively defeated Wawrinka in their most recent encounter, which was in the 2023 ATP Rotterdam Open, in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
