Jessica Pegula

The American star has been in fine form this season. She announced herself in 2023 with a thumping win against Iga Swiatek in the United Cup. Pegula made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the third year in a row. In Qatar, she progressed to the finals with wins against big names like Jelena Ostapenko, Beatriz Haddad Maia, and Maria Sakkari. In the final, she was outplayed by Swiatek.

Pegula played in the Dubai Tennis Championships and made it to the semifinals. Her run ended with a loss against eventual champion Barbora Krejcikova.

Camila Giorgi

The 31-year-old Girogi didn’t start well as she lost in the first round of qualifying in the Adelaide International 2. In the Australian Open, she lost to Belinda Bencic in the third round. Giorgi failed to make it to the main draw in the Lyon Open. She was ousted in the second round of the Linz Open. The Italian star played some spectacular tennis in the Merida Open and went on to win her 4th WTA singles title. She couldn’t back the win up with another strong performance as she lost in the first round of the Monterrey Open.

Camila Giorgi

Giorgi eased past Arantxa Rus in the round of 128 of the Indian Wells. The match ended 6-3, 6-3 in favor of Giorgi. However, she registered 9 double faults and would have to bring that number down considerably if she wants to give Pegula a run for her money.
