The talented Jiri Lehecka locks horns with world No. 72 Arthur Rinderknech in the round of 128 of the 2023 Indian Wells.
Jiri Lehecka
The 21-year-old has produced a couple of fine results this season. He started off with a second-round exit in the ASB Classic. In the Australian Open, he had a great run to the quarterfinals where he was ousted by eventual runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas. This was the first time he reached the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam. Lehecka followed it up with a run to the semifinals of the Qatar Open.
The youngster from the Czech Republic went on to play in the Dubai Tennis Championships. His campaign ended abruptly as he lost to 7th seed Alexander Zverev in the round of 32 after winning the first set.
Arthur Rinderknech
It has been a rough start to the season for Arthur Rinderknech. Wins have been hard to come by. He played in the United Cup without much success. He lost to Marc-Andre Huesler in the first round of the Adelaide International 2. In the first round of the Australian Open, he suffered an upset loss against Yosuke Watanuki. After defeating Luca Nardi in the first round of the Montpellier Open, Rinderknech was ousted by Borna Coric in the following round.
Rinderknech had a couple of forgettable campaigns in the ATP Rotterdam Open and Open 13 before playing in the Challenger event in Pau, where he reached the semis.
