Lauren Davis

The experienced American player started 2023 by playing in the ASB Classic. She was ousted in the second round by Danka Kovinic after beating Tamara Zidansek in the first round. In the Hobart International, Davis managed to win her second WTA singles title by defeating Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the final. Davis has not been able to build on her win in Hobart though. She lost to Elise Mertens in the second round of the Australian Open. In Qatar, she retired during her match against Viktoriya Tomova in the second round of qualifying.

The 29-year-old competed in the Dubai Tennis Championships last month. After progressing from the qualifiers, Davis’ campaign ended in the round of 32 as she was outplayed by Aryna Sabalenka.

Maryna Zanevska

The 29-year-old lost to Sofia Kenin in the second round of the Hobart International after progressing from the qualifiers. In the Australian Open, she couldn’t go beyond the first round, losing to 9th seed Veronika Kudermetova. Zanevska’s best result came in the Lyon Open where she reached the semifinals where she lost to eventual champion Alycia Parks.

Since that loss, Zanevska has played in two tournaments – the Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships. In both the events, she was ousted in the first round of qualifying.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 0-0 as the two players have never faced each other as yet.

Prediction: Lauren Davis to win in straight sets.
