Is Batista returning to the WWE? Wild rumours spark interest in Marvel star’s comeback

Batista had vowed never to perform in the WWE but is he returning now?

There seem to be some rumblings about former WWE star Batista (Dave Bautista) returning to the promotion.

The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion returned to WWE in 2014 after leaving the company and then again between 2018 and 2019. He then vowed never to return to the promotion and retired from wrestling.

However, some Twitter accounts have been suggesting that Batista could be coming back if things fall into place.

The Wrestling Blog posted a snippet where they claimed that Batista had retired from wrestling, but he is open to a WWE call if the promotion can set something up.

The writer’s strike in Hollywood has crippled several projects, and Batista seems to have a lot of free time on his schedule.

Karrion Kross, who recently returned to the promotion after being released by the company in 2021, also added some fuel to the fire.

While Kross didn’t confirm that Batista would be returning to the promotion, he spoke about an incident in 2019 where he called out Batista.

This was during Bloodsport and Kross explained why he called out the former WWE star in a tweet.

Will Batista follow in the footsteps of The Rock and John Cena and come back to WWE?

WWE has been a platform for many wrestlers to become huge movie stars. The Rock is the biggest example and John Cena also moved in the same direction.

Batista has also followed that route and is a legitimate actor now thanks to his role as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Batista has also done other big roles in several top productions, and his return to WWE, even for a small time would be incredible at the moment.

John Cena has been making sporadic appearances since 2019 but has become more regular in the past year, which is a bonus for all WWE fans.

Cena is one of the greatest ever to have graced the wrestling business, and there are very few who have his work ethic.

WWE fans were in for a shock recently too as The Rock made an appearance on SmackDown. He went on to take out Austin Theory and this was his first TV appearance on WWE since October 2019.

The Rock, John Cena and Batista being present in WWE at the same time would be a throwback for several long-time fans.

The three stars would certainly bring more eyeballs to the shows, and it will be interesting to see if Batista does follow The Rock and Cena.
