Andrade spoke about Charlotte Flair being pregnant and that was one reason why she was removed from WWE for WrestleMania but is she really?
Charlotte Flair was removed from the WrestleMania 37 posted just a few weeks ahead of the show.
The Queen was expected to face Asuka for the Raw Women’s title. However, there were questions as to why she had been removed.
Many WWE fans were upset and there was speculation this could have been due to her partner, Andrade.
The former NXT Champion was released by WWE recently and Charlotte missing from WrestleMania seemed really suspect.
However, The Queen later confirmed that she tested positive for Covid-19 and that could have been the reason for her to miss out on the show.
There was more to come though. Andrade was speaking to Lucha Libre Online (h/t Fightful) and be brought up details about the Charlotte decision.
Andrade revealed that he had gotten Covid-19 first before getting his release and Charlotte also got it later on.
However, a doctor that tested Andrade for a banned substance in the past called up the pair and presented the news of Charlotte’s pregnancy:
“The doctor who punished me for the positive test last year. About three weeks, it was a Wednesday afternoon, like 7 or 8 PM, they called her and it was the same doctor from the [drug test]. She was a little scared, asking, ‘What’s happening, what’s going on?’ They told her that she was pregnant.”
Andrade added that Charlotte was confused but pregnancy tests confirmed she was negative.
Andrade even questioned the doctor and claimed that this pregnancy bit could have been a lie.
“It was the same doctor who said I tested positive. Was that a lie too? WWE didn’t do anything about, no blood testing to make sure. So, it fell on us to go the next day and get tested to see if she was really pregnant.
“We did that on our own. Only then afterwards, WWE offered to help. But they took her out of storylines because ‘she wasn’t cleared because she was pregnant.’ Four days after more testing, WWE didn’t say anything. They pulled her out of storylines.”
This was explosive news coming from Andrade. The former NXT and US Champion didn’t pull any punches and went straight at WWE.
The revelations were shocking too as WWE could have faked a pregnancy to pull Charlotte out of WrestleMania.
However, The Queen responded to these claims and she did confirm that WWE told her she was pregnant:
“What Manny said about the pregnancy test in today’s interview is true, but a significant amount of context is lost in translation and we’d like to clear that up as best we can.”
The Queen went on to say that her HCG levels came in high and she was medically suspended for pregnancy.
Charlotte’s team added that she is medically clear now but underwent a lot of blood tests and an ultrasound which confirmed she was not pregnant.
The team also brought up how the life cycle of WWE star is different for a man and a woman. However, she was most upset at how the information was shared with her:
“Her issue was with the process and how the information was relayed as opposed to the information itself.”
This puts WWE in a bad light and it will be interesting to see what is next for them. Andrade’s release has already opened a can of worms and the way the tests were conducted don’t seem to be right.
WWE should have conducted more tests before pulling Charlotte from WrestleMania. The Queen is one of the greatest female talents in the history of women’s wrestling, but she seems set to miss this year’s grand show for no fault of her own.
