Emma Raducanu was recently spotted wearing a Tottenham Hotspur jersey while training ahead of the Stuttgart Open and her followers were curious to know whether she is a Tottenham fan.
British tennis superstar Emma Raducanu played down any injury concerns as she was spotted training ahead of the Stuttgart Open on Monday. The 19-year-old also appeared to confirm her loyalties to a certain Premier League football club while training in Germany.
Raducanu was seen practising in a Tottenham jersey and fans on social media were eager to know whether the tennis star was a supporter of the North London club. The US Open winner wore the top with her name on the back along with the No. 10. It was also fair to say that some Arsenal supporters were clearly not too impressed with Raducanu’s choice of supporting a football team.
Raducanu was born in Toronto, Canada but her family moved to England when she was only two years old. Raducanu grew up in London and may have had an affinity for Tottenham as Spurs are a massive club in North London.
After Raducanu won the US Open last year, she received praise from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. The teenager responded to the German by stating that she was very honoured to get congratulations from the Reds manager but insisted that she supported England as her favourite football team.
Nevertheless, Tottenham also appeared to acknowledge Raducanu’s newfound support and replied to her picture in a Spurs jersey by stating, “Things you love to see.”
Despite the attention she is receiving from football fans on social media, Raducanu will need to turn her focus towards her game against Storm Sanders in the Round of 32 at the Stuttgart Open on Tuesday.
