Is Fred VanVleet playing tonight? The Toronto Raptors will lock horns with the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 6 of the first-round NBA playoffs on Thursday, April 28th at 7:00 PM ET (Friday, April 29th at 4:30 AM IST).
The Toronto Raptors have come storming back after losing the first three games of their first-round series NBA playoffs against the Philadelphia Sixers to make it 3-2 heading into Game 6. Now, they need to win both their games to remain part of the playoffs.
While staring down the barrel of elimination, they also face a bit of uncertainty regarding the availability of Fred VanVleet. VanVleet could be key to keep the Raptors in contention to win their two remaining games but NBA fans are curious to know whether he will feature in Game 6.
VanVleet sustained his injury in the first quarter of Game 4, when the Raptors star made a lateral slide on defence and felt what he described as “a little pop” in his hip. VanVleet did not return for the quarter and missed the remaining part of the game as well.
He had to sit out for Game 5 too as he was nursing his hip injury. Now, the Raptors will be sweating over VanVleet’s fitness heading into Game 6.
VanVleet is listed as ‘doubtful’ on the Raptors’ injury card. VanVleet has averaged 13.8 points, 6.3 assists and three rebounds per game in Toronto’s first-round playoff series.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not the Raptors will opt to risk VanVleet for Game 6 on Thursday night.
