Reports suggest that Kairi Sane is leaving WWE and is also planning a quick retirement
WWE star Kairi Sane is planning to leave the promotion, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The report claims that Sane made the decision to leave WWE in May. However, no real reason has been provided apart from that.
Sane wants to actually be with her husband, who she married in 2020 and wants to spend time with him in Japan.
The report adds that Sane wants to also wrestler in Japan for another year before retiring. The 31-year-old made a huge mark in her time on NXT and the Pirate Princess even won the NXT Women’s title before moving onto Raw.
However, WWE really messed up with this character in what they wanted to do with her.
WWE’s decisions affect Sane?
While no official reason to leave WWE has been provided, apart from spending time with her husband.
However, Sane has been seriously injured thrice in the span of six months or so. She suffered a concussion while she was with the Kabuki Warriors during a PPV and it took a lot of time for officials to pick up she was in trouble, while many viewers did.
Nia Jax is another star that has hurt her a couple of times seriously. It even led to the buckle-bomb being banned by WWE.
Sane was also busted open by Jax after she was thrown into the steps. WWE actually edited that match a bit so that the blood couldn’t be seen by the viewers post the taping.
Sane is expected to complete a few more tapings before she leaves, but WWE also made a mess of the character.
While Sane was a face coming through her time on NXT, WWE decided to place her as a heel alongside Asuka.
That seemed to be a mistake from WWE’s part as they were never able to get the best out of her. She still performed admirably alongside Asuka and even won the Women’s Tag Titles with the Empress of Tomorrow.
Sane worked in several Independent and Japanese promotions before making it to WWE. WWE don’t have a great record of working with talent that come up through NXT. Only a handful of stars have actually reached their potential while the newer ones have gone up and down the mid-card.
