Is Klay Thompson playing tonight? The Golden State Warriors lock horns with the Memphis Grizzlies for Game 2 of the NBA second-round playoffs on Tuesday, May 3rd (Wednesday, May 4th at 7:00 AM IST).
In what promises to be an exciting Game 2 between the Grizzlies and the Warriors in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, there is a major concern for the Warriors. Three-time NBA champion Klay Thompson was listed on the injury report card for the Warriors.
On Monday, the Warriors had put Klay Thompson on the team’s injury card and listed him as ‘probable’ to play in Game 2 vs the Grizzlies due to a knee injury. However, just before the game, reports confirmed that Thompson will be available to play against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
Barring any late injury or setback, Thompson should start vs the Grizzlies in Game 2. He played a pivotal role in helping the Warriors to win Game 1.
Thompson suffered a massive injury setback in 2019 when he was ruled out for the last two seasons due to an ACL tear. However, he returned to action in January 2021 and has looked as solid as ever with his performances for the team.
Since making his comeback to the NBA earlier this year, Thompson has averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in the regular season. Thompson also managed a crucial block in Game 1 of the series against the Grizzlies. The 32-year-old will now be hoping to help the Warriors take a 2-0 lead against when the two teams meet later on Tuesday.
