Why is Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James out of action – is he injured?
LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever step on a basketball court. It was only last week when the Los Angeles Lakers star became the NBA’s all-time record scorer as he went past the scoring record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and cemented his argument to feature in conversations for the greatest basketball player of all time.
However, while the legendary veteran enjoyed an incredible night in Los Angeles where he steered clear of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the all-time scoring record after the latter held it for nearly four decades – LeBron James could not finish the game. It was revealed that a nagging foot issue made James unable to finish the game, but he is yet to make his return to the court.
Since the loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home, the Lakers have gone up against the Milwaukee Bucks as well as the Golden State Warriors without the services of their veteran talisman. The latest Lakers’ injury report included James in a questionable status, listing “left ankle soreness” as his problem – which continues to keep him out of on-court action.
With their stumbling season’s fate on the line, the desperate Lakers faithful have often enquired about the seriousness of the injury or any further updates.
Have there been any further updates on LeBron James’ injury situation?
According to Chris B Haynes, LeBron’s injury currently makes him a doubt for the NBA All-Star set to take place next week.
“I was told, that Tuesday game, the record-breaking game, I was told LeBron was severely struggling with that foot injury he has,” Haynes said. “It’s something that’s been nagging him for a few weeks already, but it gets to points where it just gets unbearable.”
“It reached a dire point, but what’s interesting is that he sat out Thursday’s game they said because of an ankle injury, not the foot, so that’s something to monitor as the season goes along as well. Like I think that’s going to be something he’s probably going to deal with throughout the course of the season… I was told it reached a pretty unbearable point Tuesday against OKC.”
Fans are questioning whether or not James will be able to participate in the NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 19.
