Is Marcus Smart playing tonight? The Boston Celtics will be hoping to take a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals when they face the Warriors on Sunday.
The Boson Celtics will visit the Chase Center for Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, June 5th. The crunch game between the two Conference champions is scheduled to commence at 8:00 PM ET.
The Celtics were trailing in Game 1 but a sparkling 4th quarter saw them take the lead and eventually hold onto it as they beat the Warriors 120-112. However, Ime Udoka’s side will know that they need to maintain their high levels of intensity if they are to keep the Golden State at bay. Celtics defensive star Marcus Smart will also be needing to play a huge role in that aspect. But is the 28-year-old available for the Game 2 clash against the Warriors?
The Boston Celtics released their injury update card earlier on Sunday. However, Marcus Smart was listed as fit and available for the clash on Sunday. So, barring any late injury or setback, Smart is expected to play against the Warriors in Game 2.
Smart has been sensational for the Celtics this season and his impressive displays saw him win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. Smart managed 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He will have to be at his defensive best in Game 2 as well if he is to keep the likes of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole quiet.
