After their insensitive, uncaring principal retires, North Jackson High School vice principal Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) and co-vice principal Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) look forward to taking his place as principal. However, Bill Murray – their current principal – makes clear his distrust for them both, suggesting an outsider, Dr. Belinda Brown (Kimberly Hebert Gregory).

Gamby and Russell refuse to relinquish their grip on power and begin plotting revenge on Belinda, whose quiet yet calculated personality begins grating against both of them.
