WWE star Velveteen Dream was recently involved in a car crash and that has gotten the rumour mills going
WWE star Velveteen Dream was recently involved in a car crash, and this is just the latest of his problems.
The Dream was also accused of sending inappropriate photos of himself to minors on social media. However, Dream claimed this wasn’t done by him and action was to be taken. Nothing else was said by the Dream regarding this and he appeared regularly on WWE shows.
Dream, real name Patrick Clark Jr, was also accused of sending inappropriate messages to young children during the #SpeakingOut movement. While the movement has already seen a few WWE stars, such as El Ligero, Travis Banks and Jack Gallagher released, Dream is still with the company for now.
Things aren’t improving for the former NXT North American Champion, however. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed that Dream was involved in a car accident recently.
However, the 24-year-old was released from the hospital and it seems he didn’t pick up any injuries.
It seems that WWE wants to get rid of such characters from their roster, and there are reports that don’t for good reading.
Will WWE release Velveteen Dream?
One of the first outlets to speak about WWE releasing Velveteen Dream was the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast.
They claimed that two sources confirmed that Dream’s days in WWE were “numbered”. This was confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp too but he claimed that this had nothing to do with the allegations against him.
I've been hearing this, as well as some not so wonderful news about him that doesn't have to do with any of the allegations. https://t.co/34168lwI5l

Another reason Sapp put up regarding this possible move was that WWE did not want to keep “many problematic” wrestlers on their roster.
This would certainly be bad news for Dream as he is one of the best on NXT. The 24-year-old’s Dream character is truly incredible and he is one of the better workers in the ring.
Dream has also been involved in some of the best rivalries on NXT, and firing or releasing him would certainly reduce the star power on the brand.
However, WWE also has an obligation of steering clear from further controversy. Dream’s apparent links with younger fans certainly doesn’t show the promotion in good light, although no action regarding that has been taken against him.
WWE is trying to clean up its image ever since the #SpeakingOut movement gathered steam. They have already released a few stars but those were mostly from the British scene.
It is to be seen what happens next with Dream. NXT losing a star could open the door for other promotions to snap him up. But would they take the risk after all that has happened so far?
