WWE Superstar Cesaro has left the company but is he heading to All Elite Wrestling?
Former United States Champion Cesaro has quietly made his exit from WWE as his contract expired. PWInsider was initially scheduled to be at Friday’s SmackDown in Hershey, PA, but he will not be there as he is no longer with the company.
Cesaro is reportedly a free agent now and can sign with any company immediately as he is not under any kind of non-compete clause due to the contract expiring. WWE and Cesaro had been in a contract negotiation deal, but they could not agree on a new deal.
The Swiss Superman last wrestled on the February 11 edition of SmackDown, where he lost to Happy Baron Corbin. He signed with WWE in 2011 after a successful run in ROH and became a five-time Tag Team Champion, two-time SmackDown Tag team Champion and a one-time WWE United States Champion.
Cesaro might not be going to AEW as of now
Recently, in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, he mentioned that he is not going to confirm or deny anything.
“I’m not going to confirm or deny anything. But, to me, there needs to be a certain amount of mystery in wrestling,” “A lot of that magic gets lost, so I’ll let people talk. What is important to me is my work in the ring.”
As of now, Cesaro has not confirmed anything regarding where he will be heading next, whether it’s AEW, NJPW or any other promotion. AEW will be the natural centre of speculation for Cesaro to go, and the promotion has shown in the past about how aggressive it is in signing the former WWE talent.
AEW Eddie Kingston took to Twitter and made his thought about Cesaro joining AEW,
All I am going to say is, he doesn’t have the balls to come to AEW.
