Novak Djokovic’s peforamcnes so far at Italian Open 2022
Novak Djokovic is looking more comfortable as the year has gone by. The Serbian recently capped off 1000 career wins on Saturday after beating Casper Ruud at the Italian Open semifinals. The 20-time Grand Slam winner also got past Aslan Karatsev, Stan Wawrinka and Felix Auger-Aliassime along the way. Djokovic will be eager to win his first title of 2022 this weekend and extend his run to five consecutive wins when he faces Tsitsipas.
Stefano Tstisipas’ performances so far at Italian Open 2022
On the other hand, Tsitsipas will be competing in his first final in Rome. The Greek star survived a pair of match points against him to defeat Grigor Dimitrov in the Rome opening round and later scored a pair of comeback wins against Karen Khachanov in the second round before ending the run of home favourite Jannik Sinner in straight sets in the quarterfinals. He then went on to beat German tennis star Alexander Zverev in the semifinals.

Head to Head and Predictions
Djokovic and Tsitsipas have faced each other eight times in the past and the World No.1 leads the H2H record 6-2. Djokovic also has a perfect 4-0 record against Tstisipas on clay.
Given that Tsitsipas has been looking really sharp on clay, he is bound to pose a threat to Djokovic. However, our prediction is a win in three sets for the Serbian.
