Iga Swiatek and Bianca Andreescu will square off in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open 2022 on Friday, May 13th.
Iga Swiatek seems to be on a mission to dominate the entire division this year. The World No.1 has already won titles in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami and Stuttgart in 2022 and looks on course to win another one in Rome. Swiatek found herself under some pressure during her clash against Victoria Azarenka on Wednesday but despite going 3-0 down in the first set, she eventually won the match 6-4, 6-1. The Pole had beaten Elena-Gabriela Ruse in the previous round of the tournament.
On the other hand, Andreescu overcame Petra Martic on her way to a 6-4, 6-4 third-round win on Thursday. The Canadian had previously got past Emma Raducanu and Nuria Diaz in the previous rounds. Andreescu will now have one of the toughest battles of her career on Friday when she faces the in-form Swiatek in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.

Swiatek and Andreescu have never faced each before and Friday’s clash will be their first on the circuit.
This game has all the makings of a stellar clash but given the form that Swiatek is in at the moment, she simply looks unstoppable. Our prediction is a win in straight sets for the Pole.
