Novak Djokovic will lock horns with Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open 2022 on Friday, May 13th.
The World No.1 is yet to win a title this year and will be hoping to end his drought in Rome. Djokovic began his Italian Open campaign with a 6-3 6-2 win over Aslan Karatsev in the second round. The Serbian then eased past Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2 6-2 in the third round to set up a quarterfinal clash against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Meanwhile, Auger- Aliassime was drawn against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round and the Canadian managed to claw his way to victory after losing the first set 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-2. The 21-year-old managed a much more convincing win in the third round against American Marcos Giron as Auger-Aliassime won 6-3 6-2. However, he is bound to face his toughest challenge yet on Friday.
