Iga Swiatek and Victoria Azarenka will lock horns in what promises to be a thrilling round of 16 clash at the Italian Open 2022.
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has been on a roll this year. The Pole has a 32-3 record and has already clinched four singles titles in 2022. Swiatek began her Italian Open campaign by thrashing Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-3, 6-0, without breaking a sweat. However, Azarenka is bound to post a few more problems for the 20-year-old.
Azarenka has a 10-6 record this year. The two-time Grand Slam winner has not had the best of seasons and despite her experience on the circuit has been beaten by a few young guns this year. But the 32-year old has started the Italian Open with convincing wins over Viktorika Golubic and Camilla Serrano over the past two days. The Belarussian will now face arguably her toughest opponent of the tournament.

Azarenka and Swiatek have faced each other only twice before in the past. But nothing separates these two athletes as they have a 1-1 H2H record, which is likely to change on Thursday.
Swiatek has looked close to invincible this year and the Pole is expected to come away with a win despite Azarenka’s experience. Our prediction is a win in three sets for Swiatek.
