Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud lock horns in what promises to be a mouthwatering semifinal clash at the Italian Open 2022 on Saturday, May 14th.
Novak Djokovic’s performances so far at Italian Open 2022
The Serbian superstar has been finding his feet at the Italian Open after a rather difficult 2022 so far. Novak Djokovic beat Aslan Karatsev in the round of 32 before easing past Stan Wawrinka in the last 16. In the quarterfinals, the World No.1 beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in two sets as well. Djokovic will be hoping to continue his good run of form heading into the semifinals on Saturday.
Casper Ruud’s performances so far at Italian Open 2022
Meanwhile, Casper Ruud is also looking in good form in Rome after a rather poor run at the Madrid Open and Monte Carlo Masters. The Norwegian beat Botic Van De Zandschulp 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 in the round of 32 before easing past Jenson Brooksby in the last 16. Ruud then made it to the semifinals of the Italian Open by overcoming Denis Shapovalov in straight sets on Friday.

Head to Head and Predictions
Djokovic and Ruud have met each other twice in the past. However, Djokovic leads the H2H record between the pair, winning both of his previous encounters against the Norwegian.
Novak Djokovic looks eager to win his first title this year and the Serbian looks like a man on a mission at the Italia Open. Although we expect Ruud to cause Djokovic a few problems, we predict a win in three sets for the 20-time Grand Slam winner.
