Jairzinho Rozenstruik was born in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname, in March 1988. Both his parents hail from Suriname. They named their kid after the Brazilian footballing great, Jairzinho, who even went on to watch and react to the MMA fighter’s knockout in the UFC.
Rozenstruik started out his teenage years by playing football and basketball. He transitioned to kickboxing from then on, a sport which he started training for since he was 17. After mastering the art of kickboxing, he went on to Mixed Martial Arts.
After fighting in a bunch of local promotions, Rozenstruik went on to get a bout at Rizin 10. After 7 years of entering the sport, he finally got his call-up to the UFC in 2019. He was undefeated before his move to the United States of America.
As of 2021, Jairzinho Rozenstruik has a net worth of around $1million, which is a pretty impressive amount. He would surely keep adding to it as he still looks better than ever at the age of 34.
Rozenstruik took home $90,000 in his last UFC fight which came against Cyril Gane in a loss at UFC Fight Night 186. But that’s not the most that he has pocketed from a single UFC fight. The Surinamese fighter took home a 6-digit payout in a fight before that.
Rozenstruik earned $165,000 for his win against Junior dos Santos at UFC 252. In total, he has earned close to $600,000 at UFC, with the figure including bonuses and sponsor money.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik was undefeated during his time before UFC. He boasts of a 12-3-0 MMA record, with his UFC record being 6-3-0. He won 10 straight MMA fights until his defeat against the current UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou.
He has beaten some big names in the division, with wins against dos Santos, Andrei Arlovski, and Alistair Overeem under his belt. It was, perhaps, his win against Overeem that was the most dominant.
He won that bout in round 5 via a nasty TKO. Since then, he has lost 2 and won 1. His win against dos Santos was sandwiched between his losses to Ngannou and Gane.
Rozenstruik then defeated Augusto Sakai before losing to Curtis Blaydes at UFC 266.
Rozenstruik’s parents hail from Suriname and despite moving abroad, ‘Big Boy’ is immensely close to his roots. He has at least one sibling, his brother, Artus Rozenstruik.
He posts a lot of photos and updates about his immediate family, but nothing on his social media indicates that he is in a relationship, or is married. However, a report states that he has two daughters.
Rozenstruik has a ton of sponsors backing him. His endorsements include Surgoed Makilaardij, Reebok, Music Steroidz, Telesur, Joya Gear. There could be more sponsors engaged with him, but no further information about that is available.
