Predicted West Brom line-up to face Swansea City in the Championship

West Brom welcome Swansea City at the Hawthorns as the managerless Baggies aim to return back to winning ways on Wednesday.

Darren Moore was sacked by West Brom following the club’s 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town. Albion have won only one of their last nine home games, four out of last 12 games overall in the Championship which led to Moore’s dismissal.

Swansea City, on the other hand, have had an inconsistent campaign and come into this game off the back of a 1-0 defeat at league leaders Norwich City.

Team News

Mason Holgate and Kieran Gibbs could return back to the squad after missing the last two games due to injury.

Probable West Brom XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Sam Johnstone (GK)

Johnstone has been a stellar presence in goal for West Brom and should start in the mid-week game.

Craig Dawson (RB)

Dawson is a reliable performer and has to be at the top of his game to stop Swansea from scoring.

Kyle Bartley (CB)

Strong in the air and robust in the challenge, Bartley will look to keep things tight at the back.

Tosin Adarabioyo (CB)

Adarabioyo will partner Bartley at the heart of the West Brom defence and the duo will look to stop Swansea on Wednesday.

Conor Townsend (LB)

Townsend could keep his place in the starting XI despite Gibbs having a chance of returning back to the squad.

Jake Livermore (CDM)

Livermore does the dirty job in the midfield that allows the attacking players to express themselves freely.

Stefan Johansen (LCM)

Johansen scored in the 1-1 draw with Ipswich last weekend and has overall impressed since joining from Fulham on loan in January. He will retain his place in the team.

Matt Phillips (RCM)

Couldn’t impact the game much last weekend but Phillips will be raring to make a mark against Swansea.

Jacob Murphy (LW)

Murphy’s pace, unpredictability and directness could pose a number of problems for the Swansea defence. He will start on the left flank.

Jay Rodriguez (RW)

Rodriguez’s movement off the ball as well as hold-up play to bring his teammates into the game will be crucial if the Baggies are to win all the points.
