Jeff Burton is a retired NASCAR driver who is now a color commentator on NBC Sports. Burton is the winner of Coca-Cola 600 and Southern 500. In 1993, Burton made his debut in the cup series for FILMAR Racing where he drove a TIC Financial sponsored Ford Thunderbird.

Burton continued to race in Ford vehicles sponsored by Exide and Raybestos. He competed for teams like Stavola Brothers Racing and Roush Racing. Burton could not win the title, but secured 3rd place in the 2000 season. Jeff Burton also drove Chevrolet vehicles including the Monte Carlo SS sponsored by Prilosec. He also competed in Chevrolet sponsored by Food Lion, American Online, and Cingular Wireless. In the Daytona 500 events, Burton competed in his Ford and Chevrolet. In 2010, Jeff Burton participated in a race at Texas Motor Speedway. He hit Jeff Gordon’s vehicle and both were involved in an argument. Gordon was furious and tried to punch Burton. The incident took place at the AAA 500 event. In the 2013 Coke Zero 400, Burton’s car made contact with other vehicles on the last lap and he survived without injuries.

Burton suffered a crash in the 1999 TranSouth Financial 400 at Darlington Raceway. During the race, he hit Jerry Nadeau’s car and flipped to the outside wall. Jeff Burton’s car was damaged, but he won the race in the end. Apart from these, Jeff Burton was part of car crashes in NASCAR’s main race tracks like Sonoma and Daytona. Throughout his career, Burton was involved in accidents and he managed to avoid major injuries.

Jeff Burton’s #99 Ford Taurus was his lucky vehicle as he won the Southern 500 in 1999 and Coca-Cola 600 events twice. The red and black car was sponsored by Exide.
