Jessica Pegula started playing tennis at a very young age. After spending some time in the junior circuit, Pegula turned professional in 2009.
It would be in 2011 when Pegula started to leave a mark in her professional career. On August 30, 2011, Pegula was granted a wildcard into the main draw of the US Open doubles tournament. She paired with Taylor Townsend. Sadly, she lost in the third round.
Next, in March 2012, Pegula played the main draw of the Indian Wells. She however lost in the first round.
After a few years hiatus, Pegula made her Grand Slam singles debut at the 2015 US Open as a qualifier. She aced the qualifiers and subsequently reached the main draw of US Open. Sadly, she was eliminated in the second round.

In 2019, Pegula started the year by playing on the ITF Circuit, but by February she entered the top 100 rankings for the first time in her career. Sadly, she didn’t achieve satisfactory results in both the Grand Slams.

In 2020, Pegula played her third career WTA singles final at the 2020 Auckland Open. Unfortunately, she lost the final against Serena Williams. She also played in the Australian Open for the first time but lost in the first round.
Pegula’s next big achievement came at the Western & Southern Open, a Premier 5 tournament. She played the quarterfinal at the Western & Southern Open, thus marking her first quarterfinal at any WTA Premier-level event. In 2021, Pegula achieved major success at the 2021 Australian Open. For the first time in her career, Pegula reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinal. Next, Pegula reached her first WTA 1000 semifinal at the Canada Masters in the Canadian Open edition in Montreal. She advanced to the semis by defeating Ons Jabeur in the quarterfinals.
In 2022, Pegula won her first WTA 1000 doubles title at 2022 Qatar Open, partnering with Coco Gauff. As a result, she reached the top 30 in doubles at No. 29 on 28 February 2022.
Next, at the 2022 Miami Open, Pegula reached her second WTA 1000 semifinal of her career. In the semifinal, she lost against Iga Świątek. Subsequently, Pegula reached her first WTA 1000 final at the 2022 Mutua Madrid Open.
