Jim Paschal is a former NASCAR driver who secured two wins at World 600. Paschal competed in the cup series for 23 years over 400 races. He didn’t win the championship, but secured 11 poles. Jim Paschal holds the record in the cup series for most wins among drivers as a driver who has not been in the list of NASCAR Hall of Fame. Jim Paschal Car Collections

Jim Paschal made his NASCAR Cup debut in the 1949 season. He competed for his own racing team and drove a vintage Ford vehicle. In the next season, Paschal drove Kaiser, Ford, and Oldsmobile.  Jim Paschal competed for Friedkin Enterprises and Petty Enterprises and drove a Plymouth car. The vintage blue-colored Plymouth was his favorite car. He owned 1964 and 1967 models of Plymouth.

In Daytona 500 events, Jim Paschal’s cars were Pontiac, Plymouth, and Dodge. Paschal competed in the 1971 cup series for Cliff Stewart Racing in an AMC vehicle sponsored by Javelin. He won the 1962 Nashville 500 race with a Plymouth vehicle. Jim Paschal won the 1964 World 600 race for Petty Enterprises again in his iconic Plymouth car.

Jim Paschal Car Accidents

When Jim Paschal debuted in NASCAR, there was not much safety equipment for drivers. Paschal suffered a crash in the 1967 World 600 race. He was driving a Plymouth at high speed. Paschal’a car hit the outside wall after losing control. The impact was not huge and Paschal turned things around by winning the race. There is no information whether Jim Paschal suffered injuries during the race, but his car was repaired by his team immediately.

There were reports that Jim Paschal was part of an accident in a race at Riverside International Raceway. In the 1963 Nashville 400 race, a major crash took place where David Pearson and Rex White were involved. Jim Paschal was part of the event, but he survived without injuries. Apart from these, there is no report about Paschal’s accidents in NASCAR.

Jim Paschal Car Numbers

Throughout his career, Jim Paschal drove in many numbers. In his first NASCAR Cup season, Paschal drove #60 Ford. Paschal then moved to #79 Ford. Some of Jim Paschal’s Ford car numbers were #60, #12, #6, #43, #17, #10 and #75. Paschal also drove #14 Pontiac. The red car was sponsored by Friedkin Enterprises. In the 1964 Daytona 500, Paschal drove #5 Dodge apart from #41 Plymouth for Petty Enterprises.

Jim Paschal also owned a 1966 Plymouth model. The #14 car was designed in Blue and White color. Paschal’s 1966 Plymouth car was designed in red. He also owned a #27 Huggins Javelin AMC. In the 1960 Daytona, Paschal drove #49 White Chevrolet for Bob Welborn.
