Predicted Liverpool XI to face Southampton in the Premier League

Liverpool managed to ride their luck in the title race as the Reds emerged 2-1 victors over Tottenham Hotspur in their previous outing in the Premier League, thanks to a late own goal from Toby Alderweireld.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side are set for another stiff test when they make the trip to the St. Mary’s to lock horns with Southampton in the Premier League on Friday night.

Man City reclaimed their top spot in the standings with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Cardiff in the mid-week fixture and Liverpool cannot afford a slip-up at the south coast.

Meanwhile, the relegation worries have somewhat eased for Southampton following their recent resurgence in the Premier League and the Saints sit 16th, five points clear of the drop zone after a 1-0 win against Brighton in their previous fixture.

Team News

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have too many injuries to contend with heading into Friday’s clash. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are long-term absentees for the Reds while Virgil van Dijk is likely to be fit after suffering a minor foot injury against Spurs.
