Starting out as an MMA Anchor for ESPN, Jon Anik soon found himself in the UFC. Starting off with commentating on UFC’s FX and FUEL TV events, Anik became the promotion’s main commentator, 5 years down the line, in 2017.

Following his graduation from The Rivers School in Weston, Massachussets, Anik graduated with a degree in political journalism from Gettysburg College.
Anik then worked as an intern for the George Michael Sports Machine at American University in Washington DC.
His first major break was working for the ESPN as an anchor. Starting out with ESPN in the mid-2000s he worked as an anchor and the host of MMA Live.
MMA Live aired on ESPN 2. After juggling several MMA related shows for ESPN, Anik got a chance to be the UFC colour commentator in 2011.
The first event Anik commentated was UFC on FX: Guillard vs Miller. Most of UFC’s events on FX and Fuel TV was handled by Anik, alongside Kenny Florian.
During September 2014, almost 3 years after he joined the UFC, Anik revealed that he had signed a contract extension with the UFC.
In the year 2017, following the departure of veteran commentator Mike Goldberg, Anik became the main play-by-play commentator for the UFC.
Ani extended his contract once again in October 2018.
He currently appears in almost every UFC event there is.
