Rangers FC vs Motherwell predictions: Rangers FC Line-up

Rangers face a trip to Fir Park as Steven Gerrard’s men square up against Motherwell on Sunday in a Scottish Premiership fixture.

The Gers eased to a 3-0 victory over Hearts in midweek, thus putting behind their disappointing 2-1 loss in the Old Firm derby. Gerrard will look to build on that result at the weekend.

As far as Motherwell are concerned, they are eighth in the table and enter into this contest on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.

Team News

Alfredo Morelos remains suspended for getting sent off against Celtic. Borna Barisic missed the victory over Motherwell and is set to be sidelined for Sunday’s game as well.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

The veteran is their first-choice keeper and should be in goal on Sunday.

James Tavernier (RB)

A better performance in midweek compared to the horror show at Celtic. Tavernier will aim to build on from that performance.

Conor Goldson (CB)

Goldson has been a stellar presence at the back for Rangers and should retain his place in the team on Sunday.

Joe Worrall (CB)

Partnering Goldson will be Worrall, who will have to be at his best to keep the Motherwell attackers at bay.

Jon Flanagan (LB)

With Barisic out injured, Flanagan is set to continue at left-back.

Ross McCrorie (CDM)

McCrorie has never let the team down this season whenever he’s given a chance to play. An industrious player, he will be given the nod ahead of Ryan Jack.

Steven Davis (RCM)

A highly-experienced player, Davis works his socks off and will look to help Rangers get all three points at the weekend.

Scott Arfield (LCM)

Arfield put in an excellent display in a more advanced position for Rangers against Hearts and Gerrard is likely to deploy him in the similar position on Sunday as well.

Ryan Kent (LW)

Kent brings a lot of pace, flair and unpredictability to the Rangers attack. He is a certain starter at Motherwell.

Eros Grezda (RW)

Grezda hasn’t dazzled in his first season at Ibrox, largely due to his recurring injury problems. However, the Albanian is now fit and raring to make a mark. He could start on the right wing.

Jermain Defoe (ST)

With Morelos suspended, Defoe is set to lead the Rangers’ attack once again. The veteran centre-forward scored in the 3-0 victory over Hearts and he’ll be aiming to get on the score-sheet at Motherwell.
