Jon Gruden Net Worth and Salary
Gruden has been a Head Coach for multiple teams over the course of 15 years and has managed to accumulate a net worth of $30 million. While working with the Las Vegas Raiders his annual salary was reported to be around $10 million.
Jon Gruden Coaching Career
Gruden started his coaching career back in 1985 after graduating college. He was hired as an assistant coach at the Tennessee university for the 1985-86 season. For the next four years he stayed with colleges before becoming a special assistant at San Francisco 49ers in 1990.
His professional career started in 1992 when he was hired by the Green Bay Packers to be the assistant wide receivers coach. He stayed there for three seasons before being hired by the Philadelphia Eagles as the offensive coordinator.
In 1998, Gruden landed his first ever head coach role when Oakland Raiders (now Las Vegas Raiders) hired him. He took two years to settle down in the team and finally started to see some success with the team. From 2000-2002 Gruden led the Raiders to three consecutive seasons of toping the AFC west division. In 2000 he won the team’s first division title in ten years.
Gruden went on to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002. In the very next season Gruden guided Buccaneers to the Super Bowl XXXVIII where they faced his former team Oakland Raiders. The former Raiders man, however, proved to be dominant and won the Super Bowl. This made him the youngest head coach at that time to win the Super Bowl at 39 years of age.
Beyond this season, Grudens term at the Buccaneers faced a lot of turbulence. Eventually he was fired from the Buccaneers after seven seasons with the team in 2009. He took a nine year break from coaching before being called up by Las Vegas Raiders in 2018. He wasn’t able to do anything notable with the team in his second stint. He recently resigned from the position after a controversy regarding racist remarks.
Jon Gruden Personal Life
Gruden was born on August 17th, 1963 in Sandusky, Ohio, US. He was born to Jim (father) and Kathy Gruden (mother). It is reported that Gruden met his current wife back in 1985 when he was the assistant coach at the University of Tennessee. He got married to Cindy Gruden after seven years in 1991.
The couple have three sons together Deuce, Michael and Jayson Gruden. Jayson is currently the strength and conditioning assistant for the Las Vegas Raiders.
