Liverpool welcome Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday as the Merseysiders look to retain the top spot of the Premier League table.
The Reds took a healthy 2-0 advantage in the home leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against FC Porto on Tuesday. Jurgen Klopp will want his boys to step up and beat Chelsea at the weekend to inch closer towards the title.
Chelsea, who are on a three-game winning run in the league, are currently third in the table and will be buoyant to get a positive result at Stamford Bridge.
Adam Lallana is a doubt for the Chelsea due to a small injury, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered a little setback in his recovery from ligament damage.
But Joe Gomez provided the team with an injury boost by returning to the bench in the 2-0 victory over Porto on Tuesday.
Alisson is the Reds’ first-choice goalkeeper and will keep his place against Chelsea.
Alexander-Arnold continues to impress with every passing week. He is expected to start Sunday’s game at Anfield.
Since Gomez’s injury, Matip has been a regular in central defence. The Cameroonian was an unused substitute in the win over Porto but will be given the nod to start against Chelsea.
Van Dijk is one of the first names on the team sheet. He will be aiming to keep the in-form Hazard at bay on Sunday.
Robertson is one of the best left-backs in the league and after missing the Champions League game against Porto due to suspension, he’s likely to start against Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Fabinho has been excellent in the defensive midfield role for Liverpool. He should keep his place in the team.
Played in an advanced role against Porto and did well. Henderson is likely to start at the weekend.
Keita has displayed some positive performances of late which should see him get the nod ahead of Wijnaldum for Sunday’s game.
Salah will need to get more involved in the attacks if Liverpool are to beat Chelsea at Anfield. The Egyptian is a certain starter for the home side.
Mane is Liverpool’s biggest threat going forward and the Senegalese will be raring to torment Chelsea’s defence.
