Jordan Leavitt made a big splash on his UFC debut but he is now preparing for the birth of his child but also for his next fight
Jordan Leavitt continued his great run in MMA with an incredible win over Matt Wiman earlier this month.
This was his eighth MMA fight and he picked up a win thanks to a slam. Leavitt, who is called the Monkey King, recorded one of the fastest wins on his UFC debut and brought up some crazy celebrations.
This was Leavitt’s eighth win on the spin and also picked up the $50,000 bonus for his slam win.
Leavitt was speaking to WERMMA and was congratulated for the upcoming new member of the family.
The Monkey King opened up on when his daughter was coming and when he would be fighting next:
“My baby girl comes early February. So anytime late February or after I am down.”
He was, however, open to a fight sooner but if the stars aligned:
“If something came up last minute and I felt comfortable that my wife would not go into early labour, I guess, I could jump onto something next month, fingers crossed.
“More than likely, March or April would be perfect. I would also have some money left over from the 50K and make another one.”
One of the big talking points of Leavitt is regarding his celebrations. He does the splits after the win and also tries to do some other crazy things.
The 25-year-old claimed that he did the splits as a joke after his first amateur fight and that stuck for a while.
He did that in his first pro fight too and his teammates wanted him to continue doing that. Leavitt also spoke about his plans for the 50K bonus from his last fight but was planning to keep it for now, even though buying a Tesla car was tempting.
Leavitt is one of the names to keep an eye on for the future and it will be interesting to see who he gets next.
The slam win over Wiman got a lot of attention and there could be some great things in store for The Monkey King.
