Kathleen Elizabeth Hilton is an American Socialite, fashion designer and television personality. She is the mother of famous American reality TV star Paris Hilton. 

At just the age of 9, she began her career in the entertainment industry as a child artist appearing in television shows like “Bewitched,” “The Rockford Files,” “Nanny and the Professor,” and “And Happy Days,” “Family Affair,” and others. She also had film appearances in “The Dark” and “On the Air Live with Captain Midnight.”

In 2005 it was announced that she would be hosting the reality show, I Want To Be a Hilton on NBC. She also appeared on The World According to Paris in 2011. Her breakthrough moment came when she became cast as a friend on the popular reality television show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Her appearance in the 11th season and her appearance earned a lot of praise as well.

Kathy was born on March 13, 1959, in New York City, the U.S.A. to parents Kathleen Mary and Larry Avanzino. Her paternal grandfather was of Italian descent and Kathy also has Irish and Scottish ancestry. Hilton’s parents divorced and her mother married Kenneth E. Richards, who already had three grown children from a previous marriage. Her mother then had Kathy’s half-sisters: actresses Kim and Kyle Richards. Hilton also has five paternal half-siblings from her father’s remarriage.

At 15 years old she met Richard Hilton, around the same time that she “retired” from acting. The two married 5 years later on November 24, 1979. They have four children: Paris Hilton (born 1981), Nicky Hilton (born 1983), Barron Nicholas Hilton II (born 1989) and Conrad Hughes Hilton III (born 1994). 

The Hiltons have two granddaughters through their daughter Nicky and her husband James Rothschild. She also has a granddaughter through her son Barron and his wife Tessa. 

Kathy went to the same school as Legendary Popstar Michael Jackson where they became best friends. Hilton also does a lot of Philanthropical work like she raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2007.
